TIME TO TAKE OUT THE CROWS

I have seen TWO dead crows in the past 24 hours.

A crow has always represented to me death, the demonic, and darkness. Several of my prophetic interpretation books say that crows (which are in the same family as the raven) prophetically signify “takers of spiritual sight” (The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be picked out by the ravens of the valley and eaten by the vultures - Proverbs 30:17).

The crows that try to hang around our yard are constantly chasing away the birds that we actually WANT here, such as the joyful Kookaburras and numerous song birds that live in the field and trees behind our house.

While I was a short-term missionary in a Muslim nation, the crows used to circle the Islamic mosques’ minarets at night, over and over again in all types of weather. The missionaries there knew this was a demonic sign. Even the memory of this creepy picture sends shivers down my spine.

Last night, after having seen both dead crows just hours within one another, my husband and I watched the movie, “The Fellowship of the Ring.” There was a scene where the spies of Saruman (the evil one) were out looking for Frodo and the ring – and they came in the form of (you guessed it), crows.

There seems to be an increase of these spies of the enemy as of late. These “monitoring spirits” that are sent on assignment to watch for any opening they can squeeze through, and then cause such distraction and, in some cases, disruption, that they actually end up stealing our spiritual sight and chasing away our joy and peace. These spirits do everything they can to abort the new song of joy that the Lord is wanting to put in our hearts! If given the opportunity, these crows also offer an invitation to operate out of a worldly, fleshly spirit instead of a Kingdom spirit. They are on assignment to keep us from seeing the way the Father intends for us to see in this season.

My husband and I went for a walk yesterday, which is when we saw our first dead crow, and he jokingly made the statement, “Look at that…I guess the prophets have been around.” My husband is a recognized prophet, so although he was making light of this difficult scene, he fully understood the weight of what he was saying about this dead crow.

PROPHETS OF HOPE – GO AHEAD AND STAND UP

2 Kings 6:15-17 - And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Prophets of hope are not those who are blind to the armies surrounding the body of Christ right now. Prophets of hope are not meant to pacify and make comfortable the body of Christ as if the body is made up of babies. Prophets of hope see the traps, they see the horses and chariots circling the cities of God – and yet they also SEE BEYOND THIS.

Prophets of hope have kept their eyes fixed so firmly on Jesus alone that they crows have been unable to pluck out their eyes! They maintain their sight because of where their sight lays. Prophets of hope actually step into the chaos, having overcome the spirit of intimidation for themselves, and they chase away the birds for everyone else (Matthew 13:3-4). They are then able to restore spiritual sight to those who have lost it (see the account above in 2 Kings 6), and they are able to remind people of the VICTORY that is theirs because of Christ living in them, the HOPE of glory (Colossians 1:27).

PROPHETS OF A DIFFERENT SPIRIT

Numbers 13:30-33; 14:6-9; 14:24 - Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were likegrasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for theyare our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”

But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.

The Lord reminded me of a word that I had early in 2020, that it was time for the CALEBS to arise. I believe that this is still on the Father’s heart.

Caleb and Joshua went into the promised land as spies for their people. They saw the same thing that the others saw – giants, hardship, things to overcome, territories to take, walls to destroy. They never denied what they saw, but they didn’t keep the focus there. They focused on the truth of their victorious God, and that should have been a voice of hope to the people. Caleb’s eyes of faith are what caused scripture to call him a man of a “different spirit.”

The spirit that was at work in the people was one of fear, disappointment, trepidation and intimidation. It was like a crow stole the spiritual sight from their eyes, and caused them to stay focused on the wrong things. Caleb and Joshua even called the people to repentance, but they did not listen. Numbers 14 states that it got so bad for the people, they wanted to stone Caleb and Joshua for speaking out in a different spirit (verse 10).

A prophetic voice who brings hope can also realign a nation with their words and with their faith. This is a season of realignment for many, and voices of hope – who carry a different spirit – can be the very catalyst for those who need to be adjusted back to the heartbeat of the Father.

Romans 2:4 (ESV): Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

THE JOY OF SALVATION IS RETURNING

I have watched the crows chase away the kookaburras on our property. Kookaburras do represent different things in different contexts, but they have been a special bird to me for many years as their laughter and joy is contagious. Kookaburras tend to awaken the dawn with laughter, and they stay together in small “families.” To me personally, and to many of my friends here in Australia, these delightful birds represent JOY.

Earlier this week, as I was looking off my back deck into the beautiful Australian bushland, I heard the Lord say to me, “Stop letting the crows chase away your joy.” I then saw a large, black crow begin to swoop upon a baby kookaburra and chase it out of the tree.

The Lord has been bringing me back to the basics of Christianity again, as He has many in the body of Christ. The question has been floating in my Spirit since January this year – “Why did you drop everything to follow Jesus?” I believe that articulating an answer to this question, with conviction, is actually imperative in this season of uncertainty. I also believe that the Lord has asked His bride to not only return to her first love, but also to the “joy of her salvation” (Psalm 51:12).

Just as the birds come to eat the seeds thrown upon the path (Matthew 13), I believe that the crows have come to not only remove our spiritual sight and cause distraction, but also to chase away the joy of our salvation. Unfortunately, this has been an easy task for these dark birds as many believers have been overwhelmed by spirits of disappointment, intimidation, dread, fear, etc. The crows have come, and many have felt them and have wondered if joy was ever a possibility again.

THE ANSWER

The answer lies in Jesus, working through His prophets of hope! It’s time for those voices of a different spirit to arise, and to speak once again the victory and promises of the Lord over the nations, even amidst the chaos and darkness. It’s time for the Calebs to make themselves known and remind the people not of how terrible they are, but of how good and faithful God is. Even if it means standing in the face of your own people, who may misunderstand you and want to “stone you,” you must remain in the Kingdom Spirit in order to chase the dark birds away.

It’s also time for the fog and disappointment to leave the body of Christ, and one of the greatest ways to break this off is through remembering the joy of our salvation! What is it about Jesus that made you drop EVERYTHING to follow Him, like the fishermen in Matthew 4? Ask the Holy Spirit to show you, and begin to thank Him and remember who He is and how faithful He has been. Remember to build a conviction about your transformation in Christ, and this will become a most powerful tool when the enemy tries to throw doubt and lies your way.

Regardless of what we may see or feel in the natural, we are not called to deny the darkness and yet neither are we called to dwell on it. We are called to be VICTORIOUS IN IT. Praise be the Jesus, the One who, through faith and empowerment of the Holy Ghost, makes victory and freedom our inheritance.

The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].

– John 1:5, AMP

**I am not advocating animal cruelty, nor did we kill these crows ourselves. My focus here is a spiritual one....he who has ears to ear, let him hear.

Found this article after a terrifying dream last night. Of a woman watching me closely through my window. She was monitoring my every move. I felt frozen and couldn't move. Upon waking up I was surprised because 3 months ago I had a similar dream of a young man doing the same but I reported him to a soldier standing by my door and he was chased away.

Now I see how Relentless but powerless and desperate the enemy is. And I remember he did the same to our Lord, after tempting Him, he left until an OPPORTUNE TIME.....(Luke 4:13)

Yes the JOY of the Lord is our strength. I will save this article, re-read and pray.... and chase away…

This is a BRILLIANT and timely word my beautiful sissy. I too have noticed an increased presence of crows and, in my area, bats - monitoring spirits on assignment. Seeking to thwart the purposes and calling of the LORD in the lives of His children. LAZARUS ARISE!

The scene you refer to in Fellowship of the Ring always speaks to me (well let’s face - the whole series speaks incredibly loudly)

Thank you for your obedience in releasing and for your powerful encouragement

love you

Terri
